Don't miss our fantastic Family Fun Day

Damian Holmes29 May - 08:19

The famous mascots match will be returning - and don't miss the chance to dunk coaches at a new attraction!

The Oakworth Juniors Family Fun Day takes place on Saturday June 7th on the Bronte Playing Fields.
The hugely popular event includes bouncy castles, football matches, a licensed bar, food, games, and an ice cream van.
One of the highlights will be the much-anticipated Manorlands Mascots Match, with characters like Peppa Pig, Cliff the Castle, and Postman Pat taking part in a highly-competitive five-a-side game.
New for this year, but sure to be a big success, is the dunk the coaches stool. The fire brigade and the police will also be visiting.
Club chairman Andy Hawkins said: “This is our biggest single fundraising event of the year, and we rely on people’s generosity to keep this club going.
“We currently have close to 500 children and young people playing for the club, and to keep our costs as inclusive as possible, we need to raise funds.
“We are truly grateful to all the businesses that have sponsored us and donated raffle prizes, and to all the individuals who have also donated prizes and have given up their free time to help make this event a success.”
The car park will not be open to visitors this year to accommodate the fire engine and other activities, and Andy urged people to be considerate with their parking.
“We’d ask people to walk whenever possible, and if not, to car share as much as possible. There is very limited parking on Goose Cote Lane, and we would ask people to leave their cars on or around the top main road,” he said.
Internet provider brsk is one of the main sponsors of the club this year, and they will have a stall at the event.
The fun day starts at 9.30 and will run into the afternoon. Tombola prizes can still be donated – contact the club via it’s Facebook page if you can help out.
